CEREC - One Visit Dentistry

Crown placement or replacement may require multiple appointments and can be very time consuming. We understand that you might put it off due to packed work and home schedules. But what if we told you that in just one appointment, you could have a crown made, placed, and bonded? At Bright Dental, Dr. Frank Neves is certified in CEREC and specializes in single-appointment CEREC crowns. You dont have to worry about squeezing dental appointments into your busy schedule anymore! You can do it all in one go at Bright Dental.

What Is CEREC Same-Day Dentistry?

CEREC stands for CEramic REConstruction. Using an advanced, in-office milling machine, CEREC technology allow ceramic crowns to be custom-crafted in as little as five minutes.

Traditional, outsourced crowns require numerous appointments and long waiting periods to be made and sent back to a dentists office. Luckily, CEREC has totally changed this time-consuming process by creating dental implants, crowns, veneers, and more right in dental offices. CEREC dentistry dramatically improves the speed and quality of your dental care.

How Do CEREC Crowns Work?

CEREC same-day crowns can be fitted in a single appointment, usually within just two hours. Heres a breakdown of the process.

Initial examination and preparation Dr. Neves will examine your tooth and determine whether or not a crown is the proper treatment for your needs. If a full crown is required, the tooth will be cleaned and anesthetized to prepare for the operation. Any decayed or weakened tooth tissue will be removed.

CEREC optical impression Next, your tooth will be coated with a specialized, non-toxic, tasteless powder. An advanced camera is used to take an optical impression of the tooth. This image is used to create your CEREC crown and ensure that it is perfectly shaped for your mouth.

CEREC crowns are manufactured The CEREC 3D software converts the optical impression into a 3D model of your tooth. Dr. Neves will then convert this 3D model into a finalized tooth restoration. Within a few minutes, the design is finished, and the CEREC machine in our office will create a crown that perfectly matches your original toothall in less than five minutes!

CEREC crowns are placed and bonded permanently The crown is temporarily placed to ensure a proper fit. If the crown is suitable, it will then be quickly bonded into place with an advanced dental adhesive. All done, youre good to go!

Depending on the patient, the entire process takes one or two hours. Although the procedure does not require a follow-up appointment, we do recommend following up after six to eight weeks just to make sure your crown is comfortable. Patients should also contact us if they experience any issues with crown placement.
